GAME RULES AND REGULATIONS |
It is the INDIVIDUAL PLAYER'S responsibility to READ, UNDERSTAND and FOLLOW ALL game rules and regulations as listed here and in the Players Kit. In addition, players MUST keep abreast with the latest event news and updates posted in the OPSS3 forums.
Violation of ANY game rules and regulations may result in disciplinary action, including but not limited to penalty point deductions for the player's force or ejection from the game without refund.
Safety
Only FULL SEAL goggles will be permitted.
Goggles must fit tightly against the head and face with either a foam or rubber seal and be retained by an elastic style or adjustable strap application.
ALL eye protection must be ANSI
Z87.1 Rated. Players are responsible for verifying ANSI rating and compliance. Please consult the manufacturer of the particular make/model.
Shooting, sunglasses or MESH/WIRE style goggles are NOT permitted.
Players must have approved eyewear
on hand for check-in.
Paintball
style masks and/or other style face protection is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED. Players who choose not to wear masks and/or other style face protection play at their own risk.
Goggles MUST be worn at all times in the playing field, NO EXCEPTIONS. Any player witnessed without their
goggles on in the playing field will be immediately removed from the game without
refund.
We do understand that goggles do fog and/or mist. If you need
to clear or wipe your goggles, you must first call yourself OUT of the game, place your red “dead” rag on your head, and return to the designated staging area. Once you have
cleared your goggles you will be permitted to re-enter the game from your force's designated respawn point.
Weapon
safety must be observed at all times. When in the staging areas, weapons
must be made “safe” and magazines must be removed. Players
will not point or test fire weapons in the staging areas. Test firing
is permitted only within the designated chrono areas.
Each
player is responsible for securing their own personal gear and equipment. Event Staff
and Pinnacle Woods will NOT be held responsible for lost or damaged
items. Any lost and found items are to be turned in at the Clubhouse.
Weapons and Velocity Limits
(FPS and MED's)
ALL weapons except gas blow-back pistols and approved "airsoft class" grenade launchers (listed below) MUST be chrono'd
ALL approved weapons will be tagged for identification.
ANY player witnessed on the field of play using or in possession of a weapon which was not verified by chrono and tagged is subject to disciplinary action including but not limited to penalty point deductions for their force or possible ejection from the game without refund. It is the individual player's responsibility to see ALL weapons are approved and tagged before taking the field.
Event Staff reserves the right to "spot check" ANY players weapon at ANY time during game play to verify its velocity. Refusal of a weapons "spot check" will result in immediate ejection from the game without refund.
Although players may chrono multiple weapons and carry a sidearm (in the form of a traditional style pistol), players are limited to carrying ONLY (1) approved AEG on the field at any given time. ONLY players who are carrying approved bolt-action or semi-Auto ONLY "Sniper Rifles" will be permitted to carry a "backup AEG".
AEG's
AEG's must chrono at or below 400 FPS with .20 bb's. This is a
hard limit and AEG's shooting above this limit will not be permitted.
Furthermore, there is no MED (minimum engagement distance) for this
event on weapons 400 FPS and below. However, please
be aware of your distances and be considerate! In addition, "Blind-Firing" will NOT be permitted. You must be aware and have
solid eyes-on target acquisition at all times.
Support Weapons (Squad Automatics)
Follow
same rules as listed above.
Sniper Rifles
Bolt
action sniper rifles may not exceed 550
FPS with .20 bb's. There will be a 100
foot MED strictly enforced for
all bolt action sniper rifles. Sniper rifles are not permitted
to be used within the 100 foot
MED.
Semi-auto
ONLY sniper rifles may not exceed 500
FPS with .20 bb's. There will be a 75
foot MED strictly
enforced for all semi-auto ONLY sniper rifles. To fit in this classification, the full auto function of these rifles must be PERMANATELY
disabled and APPROVED by event staff during
chrono. Any violation of this rule, including the "conversion" back to full auto fire capability in the field during game play, will result in immediate ejection from the game without refund.
Grenade Launchers, Mortars, Rockets etc...
Players may utilize standard "airsoft class" grenade launchers which utilize standard green gas-powered or HFC-134a powered "shot shells" such as G&P, Sun Project, VFC, Mosquito Molds, STAR, Trigger Happy.
Plastic, Rubber, Foam or "nerf-style" rockets or projectiles are NOT permitted for use.
Custom or other non "airsoft class" or any other launchers or mortars, CO2 powered or otherwise, are also NOT permitted for use.
Grenades, Claymores, Mines
Players may utilize AHG-01 hand grenades ONLY. Grenades must be deployed by tossing underhand ONLY and kept at a maximum 6' from the ground when deployed.
Escort or other styles are NOT permitted for use.
Players may utilize only electronic or spring action remotely detonated "Claymore-style" mines which deploy standard airsoft bb's ONLY. Tripwire or otherwise actuated "Claymore-style" or other devices will NOT be permitted for use.
Players are NOT permitted to use ANY surface laid or below surface mines of ANY type, style or description.
Note: Standard "hit" rules apply for any player hit by a bb from a grenade or claymore detonation.
Ammo and Magazine Rules
Players may carry
on their own Regular or bio-degradable ammo. Ammo (Excel Brand) will also be for sale
at the Pinnacle Woods Clubhouse.
Operation: SAFARI STRIKE! 3 will permit the use of "spring loaded" or what's more commonly referred to as "standard" or "mid-cap" magazines ONLY. The maximum capacity of these magazines will NOT exceed 200rds. Players may carry an UNLIMTED amount of these magazines on their person.
 |
NO high-capacity magazines will be permitted except for use in approved support weapon / squad automatics. ANY player OTHER THAN a player equipped with an approved support weapon / squad auto witnessed using or in possession of a "high-capacity" style magazine during game play will be subject to disciplinary action, including but not limited to penalty point deductions for their force and/or possible ejection from the game without refund. |
Note: ANY AEG (excluding those classified as support weapons) which does not accept a "spring loaded", "standard" or "mid-cap" magazine not exceeding the maximum limit of 200rds, will NOT be permitted for use.
Below is a list of currently available qualifying magazines, all subsequent models which do NOT exceed the maximum limit of 200rds will also be permitted.

Support Weapons / Squad
Automatics (which include the following; M60 variants, M249 variants,

ammo and loading tools in the field. Loading tools may be manual or
battery powered.
ALL players may carry an unlimited amount of pistol magazines.
ALL players equipped with an M203, or other style approved grenade launcher may
carry an unlimited amount of bb grenade shells.
Medic
and Respawn Procedures
Operation: SAFARI STRIKE! 3 will
use a simplified set of medic rules. When you are hit on ANY part
of the body, you will drop in place for a time period of 5 minutes
and place your red “dead” rag on your head. During this
time you may ONLY call for a medic either aloud or over the radio.
No other information may be communicated to any other “live”
player other than requesting for a medic. If a medic is unable to
get to you within 5 minutes, you will assume a "bleed-out"
and return to your designated respawn point. Upon touching down at
your designated respawn point, you may instantly rejoin the game.
Medics will treat the wounded as follows. When a medic arrives to
a wounded trooper, he/she shall remain in physical contact with the
trooper for a period of 1 minute (i.e. hand on arm, wrist, shoulder,
etc.). After the period of 1 minute is up, the trooper may rejoin
the game.
Safety Kills
For the safety of all, players who approach an unaware opposing player within 10' must utilize a "Safety Kill" by calling out aloud, “BANG!... You’re dead” to the opposing player. At that time, the unaware opposing player must honor the "Safety Kill" and follow appropriate medic and/or respawn procedures. Remember, SAFETY FIRST!... Engagements within 10' should be avoided at all costs.
Parley
The most common use of parley is when two opposing players confront each other at the same time (within 10' of one another), when both were previously unaware of each others presence. Either or both players should call out aloud "parley" and immediately back away from one another.
Procedures for Carrying
or Moving "Wounded" Players
It
may be necessary to move a “wounded” player after he/she
has been hit. Here's how it works. You must physically touch the player
you wish to carry and remain in contact with them the entire time
you are performing the carry. If one person is carrying another, they
are required to walk. If two people are carrying another they are
permitted to jog. At no time is the person that is carrying another
permitted to use their weapon. This applies to BOTH the one person
or two people carry. Additionally, ANY player may perform a carry;
this is not limited to only medics.
Cheating, Physical
Contact, Fighting and Unsportsmanlike Conduct
Airsoft is a game of honor. If you are hit, call yourself
out. One hit and you are dead. Please follow appropriate respawn or medic rules.
If you
believe you have witnessed an incident involving cheating, contact one of the
event staff. Should the incident be verified, the player will be warned once
and then asked to leave without refund on the next occurrence.
Do
not take matters into your own hands; event organizers will be monitoring
the battlefield and will address all claims of cheating.
Instances of players verified cheating by a member of event staff will result in penalty point deductions for their force and possible ejection from the game without refund. Note: OPSS3 will have many "embedded" referees and observers. Just because you don't see them, doesn't mean they aren't there.
Any form of physical contact or fighting is NOT permitted. Any party
that initiates a fight will be removed without refund, banned from attending any future events and be dealt with by local law enforcement. Other forms
of unnecessary physical contact will also be considered for removal
from the game without refund at the discretion of the event staff.
Acts
of unsportsmanlike conduct such as swearing and threats
of physical violence that is reported to and verified by event
staff may also meet with expulsion from the event without refund.
Smoke/Pyrotechnics
Only “cool burn” smoke devices will be
permitted for use on the field. No flame or wick ignited smoke or
other pyrotechnics will be permitted. Cool Burn, pull tab ignition
smoke will also be for sale at the Pinnacle Woods Clubhouse.
If you have ANY question on whether or not your specific types of
smoke devices are approved for use, you MUST bring them to the attention
of the event organizers at time of check-in. Failure to comply with
these rules will result in automatic ejection from the event without refund.
Uniforms
Uniforms
are MANDATORY and must consist of a matching blouse and trousers. NO EXCEPTIONS!
For IFF purposes, US/Coalition
Forces must wear
US
3-color desert, US 6-color
desert, desert digital, or any other TAN
based MILITARY BDU.
In addition, intermediate
platforms such as Multi-Cam or ACU will also be classified as official uniforms for US/Coalition Forces.
Rebel forces must wear US woodland, tiger
stripe, digital woodland, or any other GREEN
based MILITARY BDU.
Comms
